Increasing rain chances into this weekend with widespread totals through Monday ranging from an inch or so across southwest Florida to around 3 to 4 inches across the northern and central interior and east coast. Locally higher amounts over 5 inches possible.
A Marginal (1/5) to Slight (2/5) Risk for severe storms possible this afternoon into the evening. Primary severe threat will be localized damaging wind gusts, with large hail and a brief tornado also possible. The Slight Risk threat will exist mainly across eastern Polk/Highlands counties, with the Marginal Risk encompassing northern Nature Coast and additional interior locations.
Partly cloudy with afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, especially over the interior. Highs in the mid to upper 80s along the coast to lower 90s inland.
